Art as a Story

Writing and painting stories is a wonderful and incredible thing; anything can be created. Articulating characters through colour and movement is my favourite thing and learning to express their feelings, finding ways to bring inner worlds to life, is the focus of my work and the place where I try to apply all my passion and ability. The effort to encapsulate a frozen moment of dramatic movement or the glint in the eye of a wild animal continues to fascinate and engage me.

Mostly created from watercolour and acrylic, also featuring wax, ink, and occasionally pieces of ceramic and enamel, my art is born from the love of making opulent, bright things; full of feeling. Little birds, gentle elephants, sphinx-like cats, colossal whale-sharks, and towers of cheeky chickens; hares and patterns and myths and gold.
